La stagione dei grandi premi di Hollywood è alle porte ed è tempo di nominations. Oggi sono stati annunciate le candidature della 76esima Golden Globe Awards, anche se per conoscere i vincitori dovremo attendere il 6 gennaio 2019, giorno in cui si terrà la cerimonia di consegna dei riconoscimenti, condotta dagli attori Sandra Oh e Andy Samberg. Risulta evidente, leggendo i titoli in gara per i Golden Globe, che i film che affrontano direttamente o indirettamente la questione razziale abbiano un peso specifico notevole (sia tra i film drammatici che tra le commedie). Curioso il duello a colpi di canzoni tra il biopic dedicato a Freddie Mercury "Bohemian Rhapsody" e "A Star Is Born" che consacra Lady Gaga anche come attrice. Bradley Cooper, regista di quest'ultimo film, è nominato sia come miglior attore, sia come miglior regista, al fianco di nomi blasonati quali Spike Lee e Alfonso Cuaron. L'autore messicano ipoteca il premio nella categoria "miglior film in lingua straniera", dove l'unico concorrente di "Roma" sembra essere "Un affare di famiglia" di Hirokazu Kore-eda: Leone d'oro contro Palma d'oro.
